Sherry Simmons-Coleman, was born in Memphis TN. She is the middle child of three children and the only daughter. She was raised by her paternal grandmother on her mothers’ side. Sherry has four children of her own, three boys and one girl and inherited two bonus daughters after she married Mr. Robert Coleman Jr. of York, AL.
She served over 26 years in the US Army, Active Duty and retired as a Sergeant Major/E-9, February 2011. Her first duty station and last duty station in the Army was Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC.
She has worked for the US Army, as a government civilian for over 10 years and has recently retired from the Federal Government, July 2022. Sherry and her husband Robert currently reside in Woodbridge, VA.
Sherry has served in many leadership positions in the organizations she has been blessed enough to be a part of. She has been an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for over 16 years. She is also an active member of Kappa Epsilon Psi, Military Sorority, Inc. and serves on numerous committees and is also the Chapters’ Historian. She is an active member of FEW (Federally Employed Women) and is an former member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, which she joined in Honolulu, HI.
Sherry has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Troy University and her moto has always been “I make stuff happen!”.
