Kimberly A. Napoleon is a 1986 Graduate of Arthur Hill High School, in Saginaw, Michigan. She served this country as a member of The United States Army from 1987 until 1996. She served during three conflicts; Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, commonly known as “The First Gulf War/Persian Gulf War.”
She was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism, the fourth highest medal awarded for serving while in a combat zone (Saudi’ Arabia Southwest Asia).
Kimberly holds a Life Membership in Veterans of Foreign Wars of The United States of America. Her Local Post is Wallace C. Schultz/Dwight A. McKinney Jr. Post 9931, where she served as the Post Commander from 2017-2021, Kimberly served as Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Michigan District 9 Commander from 2020-2021 as the First Female Commander. She is also a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans where she served as Post Commander from 2014-2016 as the first Female Commander.
Kimberly is also a Member of The American Legion and member of local Post 439, she also has membership with The National Association of Minority Veterans of America.
She is a peer leader with the National WoVeN network of women Veteran’s and its BRIDGES program, which supports Women Veterans within 1 year of transitioning from their military service.
Thankfully, she is also a certified suicide prevention specialist with QPR, which exists to help prevent Veteran’s suicide. Kimberly currently serves as a Mentor with Saginaw County Veterans Justice Treatment Court; she is a Commissioner on The Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission in Saginaw County. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Child Abuse Neglect Council in Saginaw County.
Kimberly is also a member of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Top Ladies of Distinction Incorporation, Saginaw Chapter, Women of Colors, Member of Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc. Winter ’21 NL Zeta Epsilon and her local Chapter is Detroit Omicron and she is a founding member of Impact100 Global Veteran’s a philanthropy organization committed to awarding Veteran centric organizations grants to continue their programs of work and a member of the Board of Directors.
Kimberly was recently elected at the Department of Michigan Veterans of Foreign Wars 104th convention as the Department of Michigan VFW’s Jr. Vice Commander, which she is the first Female to be elected to this position in the Department’s history.
Kimberly is the widow of US Army Veteran Mr. Terrill Napoleon and the proud Mother of one daughter, Ms. Ti’Kyra Napoleon of East Lansing Michigan.
