Fannette was born in Brooklyn NY and grew up between New York and Nassau Bahamas. Growing up in a large tightknit family gave Fannette a passion for helping people. This inspired her to step out on faith and join the United States Navy in 1988, so she could see the world and help others.
During her 20 years of military service, she participated in the following campaigns which included missions in direct support of DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN.
Her numerous awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle “E”, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment ribbon, five Good Conduct Medals, and the National Defense Service Medal.
While honorably serving her country, Fannette had the opportunity to further her educational goals by obtaining the following degrees: Bachelor degree in Management with a concentration in Public Policy, Masters of Management with a concentration in Public Policy and a Masters of Business Administration. Fannette is currently ABD (all but dissertation) completing her Doctoral degree in Business with a specialization in Leadership. She is very active in her community and is a member of Order of the Eastern Stars and Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority Inc. Fannette currently works for U. S. Army Cyber Command as a Liaison Officer to U.S. Cyber Command and NSA/Senior Security Specialist.
She is married to Darryl Griffin, and they have five sons and five beautiful grandchildren. The family currently resides in Odenton, Maryland.
