Barbaraet Rembert was born in Panama City, Florida. After graduating High School in 1978, she followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the United States Army. After completing basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ and AIT at Edgewood Arsenal, MD as a 54B Chemical, Biological, Chemical Specialist, and training as a 71L Administrative Specialist, Barbaraet served in both the active and reserve components of the United States Army. During her over 12.5 years on active duty, she worked with live chemical agents, instructor at NBC school in Pirmasens, Germany and Fort Gordon, Georgia. During Operation Desert Storm, she trained reservist and civilian contractors in chemical warfare in preparation for deployment to Kuwait. Since separating from the military, she continued her education, earning two Associates in Science degrees from Pensacola Junior College, one in Legal Assisting and the other in Instructional Services Technology. She also earned a Bachelor in Science degree in Psychology from Troy State University.
Continuing her commitment to service, Barbaraet recently retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs, after 22 years of federal service giving back to those still serving. Her duties included service as Military Services Coordinator, assisting our military members with filing claims for VA disability compensation. She is a Founder of Impact100 Global Veterans, board member of The Honor H.E.R Foundation, Incorporated of Northwest Florida, active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and inactive member of Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Incorporated. Barbaraet is one of four sisters and six brothers, she is the mother of three sons and grandmother of five. She resides in Pensacola, Fl and enjoys reading, crafting, outside gardening, and listening to music. “My service has not ended, the mission continues.”
