Eyamba A. Sowers chose to begin a career of service at the young age of 18. She chose to serve God, her country and her fellow American by enlisting in the United States Army. Her 27 years of military experience have provided her with valuable training and work experience. Some of the opportunities and strengths she has acquired and used in the uniformed services include the following: Dependability, Integrity, Decision-Making, Looking Out for Others, Initiative, Tenacity, Professional Presence, Adaptability, Impartiality, Standards of Quality and Commitment to Excellence.
Her military career was both rewarding and fulfilling and has afforded her the opportunity to serve in the following capacities: an Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Lead Trauma Instructor, an Observer and Trainer and a Sexual Harassment/Assault and Prevention Victim Advocate. Additionally, while serving in the military as a Reservist, she has had the opportunity to serve non-military personnel as a Texas, New Jersey, and South Carolina licensed Respiratory Therapy Technician, Staff Respiratory Therapist, Travel Respiratory Therapist, Lead Respiratory Therapist, and Department Manager of Respiratory Therapy.
Eyamba Sowers is well-traveled and very family-oriented. As a service minded individual, she enjoys learning, interacting and sharing her knowledge with others. Upon the completion of her military career, her need and desire to serve others remained strong. Eyamba decided to embark upon several new career opportunities as Adjunct Instructor with Fortis College, a licensed South Carolina and North Carolina Realtor servicing the Midlands, the Tri-County areas of the Low Country of SC and the Charlotte, NC areas. Eyamba has obtained her Military Relocation Professional Designator and her At Home With Diversity Real Estate Designator. Eyamba is the owner of Brave Defense, LLC where she is a SLED certified firearms instructor focusing on the safety of women. Eyamba is currently enrolled as a student of National University where she is scheduled to graduate with her Master’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management in December 2022.
Although, employment and business success are great and rewarding for her, Eyamba’s greatest accomplishment was receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit on July 1, 1990. When she is not traveling, she attends and serves on the campus security team and auditorium team at Elevation Church, Columbia SC where her campus pastor is Taylor Shytle. But, she’s often in her hometown where she attends her home church Moncks Corner Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ where her pastor is District Elder Samuel Spann. Eyamba has been blessed to have several spiritual fathers throughout her spiritual journey to include Apostle JP Steadman of Seguin, TX where she was known as his daughter named “Tollipop”, Apostle Fred Rubin of Manalapan, NJ and Pastor Tommy Hatcher of Tacoma, WA. Eyamba remains closely affiliated with Cathedral of Faith Ministries Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Irmo, SC where the pastor is Bishop Richard Johnson.
God has allowed Eyamba to become the mother of three beautiful children and the grandmother of 5, where she is known as their “GiGi”.
Eyamba firmly believes in the scriptures and her favorite verse is I Corinthians 15:58 that simply says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Serving is her passion as she continues her mission with various other groups to include Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc. and Rotary International. As a Retired Army Veteran, Eyamba has partnered with other female Veterans across the globe to help establish Impact 100 Global Veterans.
